Box section tubing is also commonly referred to as SHS (Square Hollow Section) and RHS (Rectangular Hollow Section). The two primary characteristics of this section especially in Aluminium include it being lightweight and rigid. It is therefore used in a variety of applications including making frames, shop fitting, machinery and general fabrication. In Stainless Steel it has a decorative brushed finish which can be found as rails, supports and frames. It is supplied in grade 304 commonly used in the catering applications.
